KUALA TERENGGANU: The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin, and the Raja Permaisuri Agong, Tuanku Nur Zahirah, today presented aid to the poor in conjunction with the coming Aidilfitri celebration.

A total of 330 recipients, including 210 students, received the aid, contributed by Yayasan Diraja Sultan Mizan (YDSM) which is chaired by the King.

This year, YDSM has allocated RM80,000 to be given as Hari Raya aid for the poor in Terengganu. Also present at the function was Terengganu Menteri Besar Terengganu Datuk Seri Ahmad Said.

Meanwhile, one of the recipients, Yusof Mat Zain, 80, from Kampung Buluh, Hulu Terengganu, said the aid would allow him to make some preparations for the Aidilfitri celebration.

The recipients each received RM200 and a hamper, as well as a pair of baju Melayu, pelikat and songkok for the men, and a piece of batik, sandal and scarf for the women.

The students received RM150 each.
