UiTM graduates have a chance to study at Oxford

KUALA TERENGGANU: Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) graduates who pass with first class master's degree will get the chance to study at world renowned universities including Oxford University.

Vice-chancellor Datuk Dr Prof Sahol Hamid Abu Bakar said 25 graduates with 3.75 grade point average (GPA) would be given scholarhips annually to pursue doctorate (PhD) under 'Meletak Melayu Dalam Peta Dunia' programme.

"The first group of graduates chosen to study at Oxford, Harvard, Cambridge, Yale and other reputable universities will be announced in November," he said after opening an international economy and business seminar here today.

Prof Sahol said UiTM had discussed the placement of 25 graduates with the universities. He said the graduates would have to serve UiTM seven years after completion of their courses.

"Scholarships for this special project is borne by UiTM which will also choose the courses and suitable universities," he added.
